Haringey Council has received planning permission to build 46 new council homes near Remington Road. These new homes are part of our ambitious programme to build a new generation of affordable housing for local residents.

We would like to thank all those residents who gave us their views and ideas during our consultation and engagement programme with the local community about our proposals for this site. The approved proposals include:

• Forty six new council homes, including family sized accommodations for local residents on Haringey’s waiting list.

• A newly created play space for children across the area.

• Extensive environmental improvements that the local community can enjoy, included new green landscaping and the planting of 63 new trees.

• New recycling and refuse facilities for new and existing residents.

As you maybe aware, the Council has already undertaken work to prepare the site for the building of the new council homes and the delivery of the wider improvements to the local area. This has included the demolition of garages close to Remington Road. The Council has appointed Formation Design & Build Ltd to undertake further work to the site in June and July which will involve the temporary suspension of a number of parking bays in the area. Following completion of these works, residents will be sent:

• An introduction letter from the contractors appointed to build the homes, which will include more information about the intended works for the site and the times of the day when work will be carried out.

• An invite to a meet the contractor event where residents can speak to members of the construction team and Haringey Council to discuss the proposed development.

• An update on the progress of the project and its completion date: we currently anticipate the homes and improvements being finished in the Winter of 2023/24.
